Puzzle Inventions

  • Original 3×3×3 Architecture (1974)Invented by Ernő Rubik. The underlying mathematical group and mechanical axes used by our Mirror Cube simulation inherit from his original patent and design.
  • Mirror Blocks / Bump Cube (2006)Invented by Hidetoshi Takeji. The unique shape-shifting mechanic, achieved by off-centering the core while maintaining uniform single-color faces, is Takeji's brilliant contribution to twisty puzzles.

Algorithmic Methodology

  • Two-Phase Algorithm (1992)Developed by Herbert Kociemba. Our automated 3D solver utilizes ports of this exact heuristic search algorithm to compute near-optimal solutions (sub-22 moves) in milliseconds.
  • CFOP Speedcubing Method (1997)Popularized by Jessica Fridrich. The Cross, F2L, OLL, PLL method taught and referenced in our educational sections is the standard for modern speedcubing.

The source code for our rendering engine, backend APIs, and web interface is released under the MIT License.
